Moisturizing Hair Styling Powder

This Moisturizing Hair Styling Powder is an innovative formulation using Evonik’s “dry water” technology!

This formulation features AEROSIL® R 812 S which is a fumed silica that has many applications in hair care products. This ingredient provides a volumizing effect to styling aids, and since Dry Water contains mostly an aqueous phase by weight, the formulation also moisturizes the hair. AEROSIL® R 812 S provides effective rheology control in complex liquid systems.

Procedure for Moisturizing Hair Styling Powder

1. Add VP/VA copolymer to a mixture of water and preservative while stirring.
2. Add the glycerine to the VP/VA copolymer/water mixture while stirring.
3. Add AEROSIL® R 812 S and disperse with dissolver (tooth disc mixer) or rotor stator system, until a powder is obtained.
